Formations is a collaboration between myself and Emma Brown, an artist involved in vintage photographic processes. It is designed to be experienced as an installation with six large cyanotypes and acousmatic music formed of six generative and cycle-based layers, arranged into six spatially-spread mono mixes. Each layer relates to various techniques used in the cyanotypes and each mix can be experienced individually in close-up detail or centrally for a more complete perspective. The excerpt of audio presented here is based on this central perspective.
